UNIT 8: WRITING ABOUT CITIES
Mumbai is India's largest city. It is also known as Bombay. It is located in west coast of India. The better time to visit is during the months of December, January, and February. The climate in Mumbai is cool and dry in winter and the hottest in spring. Besides that, Mumbai gets wetter in summer because this is the monsoon season. The city has a population of 18 million people. It is famous for its most successful Bollywood film industry and its port. Mumbai is also an important commercial centre. The history of the city was founded by the British East India Company in 1668. There are many things to see in Mumbai, including the Mani Bhavan Museum and the most famous Chowpatty Beach.
