The most important food in my hometown is Satay. Known as "sate" in Malay, it can be found in every state in Malaysia. While the popular kinds of satay are usually beef and chicken satays.
The famous known satay outlets are in Kajang, which is dubbed as the Satay city in the country. Sate Haji Sasmuri is very popular throughout Malaysia and they are offering chicken,beef,deer, rabbit,fish and etc.
Satay is a dish consisting of chunks or slices of dice-sized meat. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. Tumeric is often used to marinate satay and gives it a characteristic yellow colour. However, people can eat satay at anytime and normally they eat with ketupat and kuah kacang
