NASI LEMAK
The most important food in Malaysian is Nasi Lemak. It is really a part of Malay culture. People can eat this Nasi Lemak at breakfast or anytime of the day. It’s name is a Malay word that literally means ‘ rice in cream’. The name is derived from the cooking process where by rice is soaked in rich coconut cream and then the mix true is steamed. Sometimes knotted screw pine leaves are thrown into the rice while steaming to give it more fragrance. Spice such as ginger and occasionally herbs like lemon grass may be added for additional fragrance. They come as a platter with cucumber slices, small dried anchovies roasted peanuts, hard ant hot sauce. Most of accompaniments are spicy in nature.
